The KDU party is just a party. Like a social gathering between friends, except that this one includes strangers as well. It is not a wild Zouk like event thingy. Or else I wouldn't have helped my bro to promote it.
First of all, it is done in KDU's hall, by students who are majoring in events management, which makes this as one of their assignments, and with that, i don't think the students nor KDU will allow a wild party. It is a party, but it is also a very serious event for the students.
2nd: entrance is available to high school students, who are obviously under-aged, so again, if the party became wild, then KDU will be in trouble, and surely they won't allow it to happen.
3rd: It ends early. I mean, what wild party ends early?
Okay with that, I rest my case.

just a thought.
felt like i should say something bout it even though the issue is like a week ago nye issue.. hee
i've lived in Sarawak for yearsss, and i've heard Christian friends and strangers using the word Allah multiple countless times.. and i have not much problem with it,though of course i felt a bit weird hearing it. coz they are merely referring to God, in their context, and not from the Islamic concept of God. they have not much hidden agenda there, it;s just the way they are used to.. it's been used for ages..
But, to claim the right to use it legally,... is another story.
why now? why all of a sudden? if it's just in sarawak then i understand, coz like i said before, its been used for ages.. its a norm to them, but for the people outside of Sarawak.. outside Sabah.. i've never heard them referring to their God using the word ALlah before..so why sebok2 now?
to me,the question is not whether it is okay to use it, the question is.. why do you want to use the word, that in Malaysia, had been associated with Islam for years?? why??
owh i would write so much more, but i don't think i'd want to risk being taken by the ISA or whatever.. haha.
and people, burning churches and all is just freaking stupid. Islam never teaches us to practice violence, so why are you doing things that puts Islam to a bad name? our initial fight is to protect our religion, but with these people doing stupid things like that, doesn't that jeopardize the sanctity of Islam itself?
i never want our people to fight with each other like that. glad that it's cooling down lately though.

shoes.

recently i've been receiving invitations to join a cause on facebook that is against the selling of puma shoes that supposedly have the name of Allah printed on it.
okay, i am someone who is naturally curious and won't trust things easily. so i went to research. alright, it does looks like ALlah. but the thing is, when you look closely and look at the word "you're" on the shoe, you'll see that the style of writing for the letter "u" is what made the word "cool" to look like ALlah.
now.. whether or not they did it on purpose, wallahualam.
but simply accusing Puma for purposely writing down 'Allah' on their shoes without looking at the matter closely, to me, is sort of an embarassment for us Muslims.
the argument should be.. because of the style of writing they use, and because the word looks like Allah, even if they didn't mean it that way, the productions and selling of the shoes should be stop. Puma should change their style of writing on the shoes so that they won't be any confusion, because having the word Allah on a shoe is clearly an insult, even if they didn't mean it that way.
what the group on causes in facebook is saying is that Puma is doin it for purpose as an insult to Islam. okay, perhaps it does make sense, perhaps it is true.. but we don't have absolute prove, and provoking them won't change anythg. in fact, it might even make the world sees us in a bad way.
it upsets me how we Muslims are always making a big deal out of everything. we are just simply too emotional. find the right arguments, fight for it. don't just simply think that we are the best and everyone else is the bad guy and just trying to destroy us. we are just way too paranoid.
i do think puma should stop manufacturing and selling the current shoes, but not because i think puma is an anti-Islamic company, but because the word could pass as Allah [though i seriously think they meant cool], and having the name of Allah or words that looks like it on a shoe is simply unacceptable. puma doesn't need to stop the design of the shoe, they just simply need to change the style of writing they used. simple.
btw found the pic sumwhere on the internet.not mine.
