We are a part of the problem.
As much as I hate the Zionists, but still, can't help to think that perhaps a part of the reason that this continue to happen is us Muslims ourselves.. We, Muslims in general. Apart from just simply contributing a few dollars, temporarily boycotting McDonalds and Starbucks when an attack happens, just how many of us did actually try to understand the whole situation or even try to think of a solution.. When it is in the news everyone suddenly becomes outspoken, once the news dies.. our world goes back to normal.
For us. Only for us, not for them..
Am speaking, with myself included. Shameful isn't it, if we really do think about it..

Twisted.
[Kelambatan, baru ade mase baca issue2 terkini..=P ]
I do not support this side of the political world, nor do I support the other side, in fact, if I have a choice to do so I would have gathered some of my trusted friends and create our own party.. hehe..
However this time around, honestly, I do think her words were twisted, taken advantage of.. It is debatable, but I truly believe she did not mean it that way. She is just saying that there should not be an exception for the verse, every one should be included, and surely Malays are not an exception. How can anyone say Malays are excluded when the Malays are merely a race, not even mentioned in the Qur'an.. But however once you accept Islam as a belief, you should be tied to it, just as one is tied to the rules and regulations of the state, and if one does not follow, of course one is punishable.. I do believe this is what she meant, and if she had time and had furthermore explain it would have been different. Wallahualam.
Anyway, for further understanding on apostacy, I thought this was a nice explanation, though I feel like the answer only answers the question of why apostacy is punishable, not why they should be killed:

And this, explains better on the main question, I believe:

And back to the Nurul Izzah case, besides the main debate here, I like her explanation on LGBT..which I believe should be the basis for all things.. I am tied to my believes, I chose to be tied to it, we all are free to choose what we want to believe, but regardless of that, it doesn't give you or I the right to unjustly treat them or those who has a different believe.

In regards to Irshad Manji..
Thing is, Malaysian Muslims, especially the young and ignorant ones.. are too easily strayed off; never ever underestimate the power of words. She has some points in what she's saying, but still most of it are too ridiculous. You should always question everything you came across, but in terms of religion, your questions should be aimed for you to get a better understanding, not to mock or reform it .
I haven't actually read her books, but it seems like she's looking for a reformation in Islam, like she wants to change the religion to suit her, instead of the other way round. Do correct me if I am wrong..
There are some critical questions that she asks which bothers me a lot.. She has apparently question the validity of some Quranic verses, saying that it is confusing and contradicting, as well as saying that prayer's are ridiculous. But then I only read this in a newspaper clipping, never actually right from the book itself, and therefore it could have been altered.

A Muslim by choice.

I would love to meet and marry a guy who is a Muslim by choice. I remained a Muslim by choice, but I became a Muslim because my parents are Muslims. They became one because their parents are also Muslims. And so on..
But someone who wasn't born a Muslim, who grew up as a believer of any other religion, but then embraces Islam based on his/her own rationale choice, is truly amazing.
And I would really love to meet one. They're truly blessed.
Btw, tried to search for a muslimbychoice pics, couldn't find one, and this one is just superbly awesome so i decide to put it here. took it from deviantart, done by kaela16. she has a beautiful gallery, here's a link to it, do check it out: http://kaela16.deviantart.com/gallery/

In case there is a slight feeling of concern or curiosity in your heart..
Know that at times I still wish I had approached you sooner. I still wish you would reappear. I still long to see your smile again. I still have very strong feelings for you.
Ramadhan is a holy month. Miracles happens, prayer's answered.. If we are sincere enough and Allah wills.
I pray.. Allah will help me understand.

just a thought.
felt like i should say something bout it even though the issue is like a week ago nye issue.. hee
i've lived in Sarawak for yearsss, and i've heard Christian friends and strangers using the word Allah multiple countless times.. and i have not much problem with it,though of course i felt a bit weird hearing it. coz they are merely referring to God, in their context, and not from the Islamic concept of God. they have not much hidden agenda there, it;s just the way they are used to.. it's been used for ages..
But, to claim the right to use it legally,... is another story.
why now? why all of a sudden? if it's just in sarawak then i understand, coz like i said before, its been used for ages.. its a norm to them, but for the people outside of Sarawak.. outside Sabah.. i've never heard them referring to their God using the word ALlah before..so why sebok2 now?
to me,the question is not whether it is okay to use it, the question is.. why do you want to use the word, that in Malaysia, had been associated with Islam for years?? why??
owh i would write so much more, but i don't think i'd want to risk being taken by the ISA or whatever.. haha.
and people, burning churches and all is just freaking stupid. Islam never teaches us to practice violence, so why are you doing things that puts Islam to a bad name? our initial fight is to protect our religion, but with these people doing stupid things like that, doesn't that jeopardize the sanctity of Islam itself?
i never want our people to fight with each other like that. glad that it's cooling down lately though.

shoes.

recently i've been receiving invitations to join a cause on facebook that is against the selling of puma shoes that supposedly have the name of Allah printed on it.
okay, i am someone who is naturally curious and won't trust things easily. so i went to research. alright, it does looks like ALlah. but the thing is, when you look closely and look at the word "you're" on the shoe, you'll see that the style of writing for the letter "u" is what made the word "cool" to look like ALlah.
now.. whether or not they did it on purpose, wallahualam.
but simply accusing Puma for purposely writing down 'Allah' on their shoes without looking at the matter closely, to me, is sort of an embarassment for us Muslims.
the argument should be.. because of the style of writing they use, and because the word looks like Allah, even if they didn't mean it that way, the productions and selling of the shoes should be stop. Puma should change their style of writing on the shoes so that they won't be any confusion, because having the word Allah on a shoe is clearly an insult, even if they didn't mean it that way.
what the group on causes in facebook is saying is that Puma is doin it for purpose as an insult to Islam. okay, perhaps it does make sense, perhaps it is true.. but we don't have absolute prove, and provoking them won't change anythg. in fact, it might even make the world sees us in a bad way.
it upsets me how we Muslims are always making a big deal out of everything. we are just simply too emotional. find the right arguments, fight for it. don't just simply think that we are the best and everyone else is the bad guy and just trying to destroy us. we are just way too paranoid.
i do think puma should stop manufacturing and selling the current shoes, but not because i think puma is an anti-Islamic company, but because the word could pass as Allah [though i seriously think they meant cool], and having the name of Allah or words that looks like it on a shoe is simply unacceptable. puma doesn't need to stop the design of the shoe, they just simply need to change the style of writing they used. simple.
btw found the pic sumwhere on the internet.not mine.
