Harimau Malaya.

Here's what I think of the game:

Heartbreakingly disappointing. They were not aggressive enough, and defense was very poor. Khairul Fahmi was superb, Safee Sali did tried his best as well, but the thing is.. football is a team game. It requires the effort of the entire team to win, and I don't know.. I failed to see that effort in this game.

However, I am more emotional right now, because of the way most of my fellow Malaysians react to the game. Yesssssss I get it you want to be supportive. but come on, they did not play well. I guess second half was sligggghhhhhhtly better, but the first half was terrible. Passing was off, defends was incredibly poor, goalie was... superb. The only thing I am incredibly proud of today.

What I read so far of the comments made is things such as.. "well done, Harimau Malaya! at least we are Malaysians and played fair.. unlike the Lions that are made up of immigrants and are full of drama queens."

Okay first of all.. the typical Malaysian would say that. The comment is to me, diverting the fault to the Singaporeans. And that is what disappoints me the most. Yes they were drama queens on the pitch, yes some of them are not even Singaporeans.. but they played 'football' anyhow. This is our home grown, how can you not performed? Their players are more professional, but they were also older. How can they control the game more than you? Heck, I actually even think the referee was a bit bias to our Malaysian players during the first half of the game.. 

My point here is, what disappoint me is.. how my fellow Malaysians love to divert the fault to the other person rather than seeing their own fault, or in this case our own team's weaknesses.

Then.. there was the 'job well done' comment. I may not be an expert in football games, but from what I saw, they did not play well. And to praise them for playing that way is just... ridiculous. It's like praising a kid for getting a C in their exam. It might work and make the kid not lose hope, but it might backfire as well, and make the kid thinks that a C is sufficient enough to make mummy and daddy proud of me.

Get my point? I just don't think that praising them for something they did not perform well on is good for them, in the long run. If everyone keep on saying its okay every time they lose, and nobody pointed out to them what they should improve on, then how can they possibly improve?

I'm not saying you should ambushed them with hatred and all of their weaknesses and mistakes and make their lost even more depressing for them, am just saying that perhaps.. rather than praised them for something they did not deserve a praise for, maybe we can give them tips and points to work on, and encourage them to do better. Am sure they do read these comments you make for them.. even if they don't, I'm sure someone will be telling them about it. And if everyone says its okay, don't you think that will make them think it is indeed okay, and therefore next time they just have to fight with the exact same momentum as they just did just now? Would that be good?

Just my two cents.

Democracy.. Malaysian style.

Written by my dear friend Amalul. There’s only one part of the article that bothers me, and if you understand me well you should know which part (sorry dear, we can’t always agree. i br perasan when i read it again, which is why it wasn’t mention in my reply to you. hehe) . But the rest of the article is superb. Very valid arguments, concisely written, from my point of view. 

I wouldn’t say the oppositions can surely lead the country better, but the current gov definitely need and must improve themselves in a lot of areas. Like what Amal wrote in the article, we are not indebted to them in any way, they are supposed to lead us to success anyway. I think the first thing they should change is : to start listening to the people, and stop asking people to listen to them. 

The truth?

I am just too annoyed with someone right now..

We are all entitled to our own opinion. But can you please stop acting like you know everything and your idea of the truth is the truth? No one knows the truth here, there are just toooooooooo many putar belit going on here and there, only God knows whats really going on. 

What annoys me the most is the fact that he is not even Malaysian nor living in Malaysia. well, at least no longer living here. 

I know he cares bout other countries developments as well purely because he is a political science student, and it is only natural for him to do so, but.. I do too! I've been following developments in the middle east as well, but I don't claim I know everything about whats happening there.. I can only rely on what I have access to.. which is mainly articles written by other people, as well as the news. And that to me, cannot be deemed as the truth. You can decide on what you want to believe, you can argue about it, but must you act like your idea of the truth is the purest of truth and force people to believe in it as well? 

The reason am so annoyed is because to me, the way he puts it in words indicates that he has the purest truth and others should believe in it too. If he has no intention of doing so, then I apologized for thinking otherwise, and maybe he should try to rephrase his statements. 

But as for now, I will continue being annoyed. haha..

Achieving the dolly eye look.

Someone from uia has been reading my tumblr. Every day. Like 4-5 times a day. And I just cant help wonder who the person is.. and why? I think the only friends I still have there is Nana. and its not her. and owh, can't be Abe or Zan either. Impossible. Hmmmm.... Just curious. Am sure its nothing special. But its just simply me to be curious bout small things such as this.

This is GEO contact lenses. It makes you look like a doll. Well, your eyes, at least.. Hehe.. Andddddd! My friend is selling it from RM 25-RM 30 per set! i mean, one set is inclusive for contacts for right and left eye la okay~ hee =P murah kan? cheap isn't it?

A Muslim by choice.

I would love to meet and marry a guy who is a Muslim by choice. I remained a Muslim by choice, but I became a Muslim because my parents are Muslims. They became one because their parents are also Muslims. And so on..

But someone who wasn't born a Muslim, who grew up as a believer of any other religion, but then embraces Islam based on his/her own rationale choice, is truly amazing.

And I would really love to meet one. They're truly blessed.

I love food.

This is my version of potato gratin. Basically a dish of baked potatoes with cream and cheese. Yummyyyyy!

Tried to re-create what i usually tasted, made by my chef to be cousin, but semestinyalah x jadi spt dia. haha!~ the potato wasn't as soft, xcukup lame masak dah lapar.. hee.. but it was yummy enough. =)

The train ride to the land of smiles.

Since dah lame gile x update, terase seperti nk update namun kemalasan mahu perah otak for something intellectual, maka terhasil lah blog post ini..... =P

We went to Hatyai, Thailand for several days last week during the school holidays. Since my little sister have never taken the train to anywhere before, we decided to begin and end the journey with a train ride.

The modern tuk tuks. no longer using the scooter like vehicles. And at the back is our hotel.

It was good. The whole trip. The last time i traveled anywhere by train was like ages ago back when i was a small child, so its a great experience for me. Been to Thailand before, was in Bangkok years back, but Hatyai was a bit more peaceful compared to Bangkok. And there's a lot of Muslims too, so food wasn't a problem at all. Its just at the border btw, you can drive your own car there, so its quite a good place to go to for a weekend escape... if you know how to drive aggressively, the drivers here are beasts on the road, everyone's seems to be racing for something.
